2013–2014 Scholarship and Fellowship Applications are Open!

Undergraduate, Graduate Fellowship and Alumnae Continuing Education (ACE) Scholarship applications for the 2013–2014 academic year are now available. This year, 128 Pi Phis received scholarships, so do not miss out on your opportunity to apply for next year's available scholarships!

Holiday Craft Day at UMOM, Volunteers Needed

During the holiday season UMOM has an arts and crafts night for their 100 resident children.  Pi Beta Phi is hosting a table and needs only 5-6 volunteers.  Check your calendars to see if you're available Tuesday, December 18 6:00-8:00 pm, if so, RSVP philanthropy@phoenixpibetaphi.org.

Volunteers Needed December 11th for UMOM

In the spirit of the the holidays, UMOM provides wrapped gifts for their residents. We need to provide ten volunteers to wrap presents on Tuesday, December 11 10:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. UMOM provides all - gifts, wrapping paper, ribbon - we just need to provide wrapping talent. Read to Me on Tuesday evening requires reading one on one with a child age 4+ from 6:00pm-8:00pm.  Family and friends may also volunteer.

 

Book Room requires one-two hours of categorizing/organizing primary, intermediate and young adult books into plastic crates.  Access to the Book Room is Monday - Friday 8am-8pm.  

 

Dates have been scheduled for Philanthropy volunteers, needless to say, we continue to need volunteers.

Susan G Komen Race for the Cure

 

The Phoenix Alumnae Club and AZ Beta’s virtual participation in Susan G. Komen had 49 participants register for the event and donate $1918 inclusive of registration fees.  Way to go Angels!

Six hundred books provided by the Foundation Literacy Fund for Central Arizona Habitat for Humanity 60 new homes for 2012-2013

Thirty-six out of 60 bookcases have been delivered to Habitat for Humanity Central Arizona for the 2012-2013 year.  This endeavor has made possible by Craig and Karen Thorn of Thornwood Furniture.  The Phoenix Alumnae Club and Habitat of Central Arizona know that Craig and Karen’s efforts will be recognized in Pi Beta Phi’s Halo Heaven!  Arizona Beta provided bookworm bags filled with 10 books for each family.   The 600 books were provided by the Foundation Literacy Fund.

This is our sixth year to participate in the Susan G Komen Race for the Cure with the ASU Pi Phis.  You won’t need to wake up at 5:00 a.m. to join the race, but can still make a difference by sleeping in!  Each person can sign up for Sleep in for the Cure team.  This year it is a virtual event. 

The past 2 years we have be AWARDED the largest Sleep In for the Cure team!

It's Back to School!

Box Tops for Education, Support Pi Beta Phi Elementary!

 

Don't forget we are collecting Box Tops for Education to donate to Pi Beta Phi Elementary for our Centennial Celebration! Everyone is encouraged to collect Box Tops from now until October and we will send in our Club Donation. Send your box tops to our Co-Presidents Suzi Morris-Kuenster (30423 N 42nd St Cave Creek, AZ 85331) and they will send to Headquarters on behalf of our club. We will also be collecting your Box Tops at our Membership Brunch on September 8^th!  Collecting Box Tops is a simple way to participate and make an impact as we continue promoting literacy and supporting Pi Beta Phi Elementary.

Just look for the Box Tops logo on hundreds of products like Cheerios^®, Hamburger Helper^® and Kleenex^®, in almost every aisle of the store.
